Since its inception in 2009, the Department of Multimedia Communication and Design (MCD) has undergone a remarkable transformation—from offering a diploma program to now proudly presenting a full academic spectrum that includes B.Des., M.Des., and Ph.D. in Multimedia Design. With a thriving alumni base spanning 12 diploma batches, 5 B.Des. batches, and 4 M.Des. batches, MCD has firmly established itself on the national map, attracting students from across India. Our alumni have made their mark in top institutions like IDC IIT Bombay, NID Gandhinagar and Bangalore, IIT Guwahati, IIT Jodhpur, IIT Kanpur, IIT Hyderabad, and MICA Ahmedabad, where they are pursuing advanced studies and research. This presence is a testament to our growing influence in the design education landscape. Professionally, our graduates have ventured into diverse industries—from news channels and advertising to 3D animation, gaming, software, IT, and prestigious design schools—continuing to carry the department’s legacy with pride. Our flagship national-level design festival, “ANUVA,” brings together vibrant minds through interdisciplinary seminars and workshops led by renowned national and international speakers, enriching the student experience. With a comprehensive curriculum that blends creativity with communication and technology, we empower our students to become industry-ready professionals, innovative entrepreneurs, and future educators. One-day workshop titled “Transforming Ideas into Impact” on Wednesday, the 9th of April, 2025, held at the BKB Seminar Hall, CIT Kokrajhar. This workshop is being conducted in association with the Assam AVGC-XR Development Association (AADA)—a dedicated industry body committed to fostering growth, innovation, and collaboration in the fields of Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics, and Extended Reality in Assam.
